The aim of the project is to provide new technical and methodical solutions in the field of micropollutant removal in drinking water production (=contributing to ensuring a healthy and quality environment in Czech republic + minimizing the negative impact of human activities on the environment) and optimized regeneration/reactivation of activated carbon (GAU), which means less waste production, less use of new GAU and thus saving primary resources, respectively. In terms of the priority research objective, the project has overlaps in several areas including the protection of water, product reuse, minimising negative environmental impacts and moving towards a circular economy (2.1 and 2.2). However, 2.10 on water was finally chosen as the priority research objective, as the provision of good quality drinking water is an absolutely critical requirement in terms of 'environment for life' (without implying that other objectives and needs are less important) and is the primary objective of the project.
