Two seismically active areas - Hronov in the Czech Republic and Little Carpathians in the Slovak Republic were affected by relatively strong earthquakes in the beginning of the 20th century, which in terms of magnitude are among the strongest in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 1901 there was a magnitude 4.7 earthquake in the Hronov region and in 1906 a magnitude 5.7 earthquake in the Little Carpathians. The submitted project focuses on cooperation in the acquisition and analysis of geophysical data with an emphasis on seismic monitoring. The aim of the project is to refine the seismotectonic model of the area of the Little Carpatian region and the Hronov region, which is crucial for seismic hazard assessment in the studied areas. In Slovakia this is mainly due to the proximity of the nuclear power plant Jaslovské Bohunice, for the Czech Republic due to the construction of a new highway that passes through the seismically active area of Hronov.
